Intro:
The OPPO Reno 8 5G is easily one of the best midrange phones to consider when it comes to
specifications, sporting the powerful Mediatek Dimensity 1300 Chipset, boasts 80w super fast
charging, and it costs just under $400. Pretty competitive pricing if you ask me.
Design:
It’s a fine design, lightweight, and has a nice feel in the hands. Its frame is flat
and can stand on a flat surface without support. Unlike most smartphones, the Reno 8 5G has its
power button and volume rocker keys separated, with the former on the right frame and the latter
on the left. As for ports, we have just USB C and SIM card slot, both at the bottom frame.
It accepts dual Nano-sim cards, but no support for expandable storage. It does however,
come in two memory options, 128 and 256GB, both with 8GB of base RAM,
extendable up to 13GB thanks to RAM expansion. One thing to note about the Reno 5G which might
be a bummer but not necessarily a deal breaker is the lack of stereo speakers.
We only get a down firing mono speaker. Turning to the display side of things.
Display:
we have a 6.4 inches Full HD AMOLED display with a left hole punch style for its selfie camera.
It is a vibrant AMOLED display which can get bright up to 800 nits.
5g device:
Is a 5G compatible device, but for some reason, I can’t seem to find the 5G option in the settings.
Normally I should be able to find 5G as one of the network options but it seems to only have 4G.

Battery :
Thee Reno 8 5G is its battery life. While it packs just 4500mAh battery it is well optimised and you
can expect at least a day of use. More than once I had to confirm if it was not a 5000mAh
battery. Of course your usage might be different, but in my experience the battery life actually stands out.
Camera:
On to the camera performance of the Reno 8 5G. We see a triple rear camera configuration comprising
of a 50MP main camera, an 8MP Ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera. And for its selfie we get 32MP.
.
Conclusion:
The Oppo Reno 8 5G is capable of shooting up to 4k 30fps videos from its rear camera and
1080p 30fps from the selfie camera. I find that it actually does decent in performance
even in less ideal lighting conditions. To summarize, I’m quite impressed with
the Reno 8 5G and will highly recommend.
